Theresa Robertson, Ph.D.

Psychotherapy for Adolescents & Adults

I offer both individual therapy and DBT skills group services in Baltimore, MD. My approach to psychotherapy is first and foremost, guided by your specific needs and goals. It is also informed by my personal practice of mindfulness, and by my training in the integration of spirituality within the psychological healing process.

We will work together to identify strategies and practices to enhance your sense of well-being and balance related to the therapeutic goals you wish to accomplish. I believe that each of us possesses the inner wisdom needed not only to heal, but to grow toward an ever, deeper experience of being fully alive.

It is important to find a therapist with whom you feel you can speak openly, and whose approach to therapy resonates with your own way of being. For this reason, I offer a free 30-minute consultation to afford you the opportunity to get to know me, learn more about my approach, and ask any questions you might have as you seek to find a therapist. Feel free to call or email me to schedule a free consultation.

Individual Therapy

Individual sessions are 50 minutes in length.

The total duration of therapy is dependent upon what you would like to accomplish. Effective therapy may be accomplished in as few as 8 to 12 weeks for some concerns. For more involved issues, personal transformation, and increased quality of life, longer term therapy is generally indicated. DBT therapy requires a minimum commitment of 6 months.

I have experience in the application of a variety of approaches to therapy, including:

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
  • Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT)
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Core Transformation

We will work together to select approaches that best suit your needs.

A DBT Skills Group is offered on Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Members are expected to also be receiving individual therapy. If you are interested in participating in this group, please call or email me
